your privacy, plainly

BackPocket Mom holds some of the most tender details of your family's life — your children's schedules, their medical notes, your documents, your memories. we treat that as a responsibility, not a resource. here's the promise, in plain words.

we never sell or share your family's data. ever.

this is the heart of it. your information is not a product. we don't sell it, we don't rent it, and we don't hand it to advertisers or data brokers — not now, not later.

we're funded only by subscriptions

the app is designed to be paid for by the people who subscribe — never by monetizing your data. that's deliberate: it means our only job is to be useful to you, not to anyone buying your attention.

your data is built to be private and encrypted

documents, schedules, profiles, and records are designed to be encrypted in transit and at rest. private documents are meant to stay private — the company does not read them.

you can always see, export, and delete everything

there's a "your data" view where you can look at everything we hold, download a copy, and delete it. if you ever close your account, we offer an export first, then a 30-day recoverable pause, then permanent deletion — stated plainly, never with fine print.

you control what helpers and co-parents see

sharing is always your choice, set per person. a sitter or grandparent sees only the child and only the details you pick — a live preview shows you exactly what they'll see before you save. some things (the document vault, insights, your private life) are never shared with helpers. a small set of child-safety details — allergies, current medications, emergency contacts — always stays visible to both parents, because no parent should be able to hide those from the other.

sensitive moments come with a quiet reminder

when you upload a medical record, invite a helper, or turn on location, a short in-context note tells you what's happening with that information, right at that moment — so trust is something you feel, not something you have to go looking for.

children's data

because families and children are at the centre of the app, the binding policy will follow the rules that protect children's information in each region we serve. this draft describes our intentions; the lawyer-reviewed version will be the one that governs.
